The UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are known in law as ‘The British Islands’, the term used on the form.

To apply for a Convention adoption order (where the child and the adopters are habitually resident in different countries, both of which are contracting States to the 1993 Hague Convention), use Form A59.

To apply to adopt a child who’s been brought to the UK for adoption from a country that is not a contracting State to the 1993 Hague Convention, use Form A60.
